The collected works of Saint Nicholas of Japan, presented in 6 volumes, include official correspondence, private letters and diaries of the saint. The publication also includes accompanying materials related to the activities of the saint and the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Japan. All texts are published in the new orthography and are supplied with scientific reference apparatus: commentary, dictionaries of the mentioned persons and geographical names. A number of documents are published for the first time.
The first volume contains the official correspondence of Saint Nicholas of Japan for 1860-1883. The publication contains photo documents from the saint's era, facsimiles of some of his manuscripts, a map of Japan from the end of the 19th century with the routes of his missionary travels indicated, demonstrating the spread of Orthodoxy in the country. The second volume includes official correspondence covering the period from 1884 to 1912. The publication is provided with illustrations and a map of the missionary travels of the head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission for 1891-1898.
The third volume includes the saint's private letters from 1860-1911, addressed to various people. The publication is provided with illustrations, among which are drawings by St. Nicholas.
The fourth volume contains diary entries and missionary notes that the saint kept from 1870 to 1888.
The fifth volume - diary entries and missionary notes from 1889 to 1895.
The sixth volume - diary entries from 1896 to 1899.
