The new issue of "Chtivo" magazine is dedicated to records.

Throughout history, people have competed with one another. It all started with trying to see who could run the fastest, and has progressed to hot dog eating and space races. Behind it all, the central question remains: why, exactly, do we want to be better than others?
Companies strive to outsell their competitors. Bloggers compete for subscriber numbers and viewership. Auction houses boast about record-breaking lots, musicians about their chart positions, and writers about their print runs. Directors compete with each other for the number of prestigious awards, and producers about box office receipts.

The editors sought to discover when humans first began recording their achievements, how this impacted the economy, culture, and society as a whole, and what lengths people are willing to go to inscribe their name on the list of record holders.
