After the October Revolution, about ten thousand Russian refugees found shelter in Belgium. Belgium welcomed the Russians favorably, and their numbers steadily increased. The book, based on unique archival documents, examines the multifaceted and contradictory relationship of the Russian diaspora with the secular and ecclesiastical authorities of the new host country, as well as little-known aspects of Belgian history.
