An outsider's view of the constructivist artist and designer on both Paris and Moscow at the same time.
In March 1925, Rodchenko traveled to Paris to work on the design of the Soviet section of the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts and Art Industry. He wrote home almost daily. At home Stepanova collected letters, filed them in a special notebook. In № 1 of the magazine "New LEF" for 1927 was published part of these letters. In those years, the LEF literary writers defended the principle of "documentary prose", i.e. the maximum factual description of what was happening (the principle of an interview, a diary, a pack of documents). The extreme frankness of Rodchenko's letters appealed to them. This was a new type of artist, constructivist, designer's view of both Paris and Moscow from the outside.
