Until children learn to read, they recognize the text of a book from the teacher's words. When practicing with the first grade, it is necessary to use didactic material. It is necessary to have at least cut numbers and action signs, squares and sticks (or matches without heads). At first, learning the composition of numbers and counting to 10, children learn only to recognize numbers. At this time, cut-out didactic material is used. Writing numbers begins later and proceeds more slowly. Numbers should be taught one at a time. Double tasks are allowed in the book for the sake of saving space and should not violate the Methodological Requirement.
The tasks related to figures are always placed in the book under the figure. At first, some examples contain numbers that children do not yet know how to write. In such cases the instruction is given: add and subtract orally. The book gives a system of elementary knowledge of mathematics for the first year of study.
