Lieutenant General Mikhail Konstantinovich Diterikhs was a participant in the Russo-Japanese, World War I, and Civil Wars and one of the leaders of the White movement in Siberia and the Far East. When the Whites entered Yekaterinburg in 1918, Diterikhs supervised the investigation of the murder of the royal family on behalf of Admiral Kolchak. In 1922 in Vladivostok he published a book "The Murder of the Royal Family and Members of the House of Romanoff in the Urals", in which he not only detailed the course and results of the investigation, but also outlined a number of his own conclusions. Of course, in the conditions of the Civil War, not all of the general's conclusions were based on documentary data, although he tried his best to maintain objectivity and take into account the facts revealed. The testimony of a person involved in the events is always of great interest.
