This book by Kurt Lewin, a renowned German-American psychologist and one of the founders of modern social psychology, explores the problems of field theory. According to this theory, humans live and develop within a psychological field of surrounding objects, each of which possesses its own valence, that is, a charge capable of generating tension in a person that requires release. Lewin called this behavior "field behavior" and contrasted it with "volitional behavior," driven by internal needs and motives. Many of the issues addressed in this work have become fundamental for psychologists: aspiration levels, group dynamics in the social sciences, social perception, field theory, goal structure, individual goal levels, etc.
For psychologists, historians, sociologists, media professionals, and teachers and students of relevant disciplines.
