Volume 73 of the Orthodox Encyclopedia completes the publication of articles beginning with the letter "F" and begins publications beginning with the letter "H". The publication opens with an article dedicated to the memory of the Apostle Thomas. It examines the question of why the Evangelist John calls this Apostle a twin, discusses the image of the Apostle in apocryphal literature, legends about the Apostle's preaching in Parthia and India, Persia and China, and the iconography of the Apostle. The materials of the volume are completed with an article about the Venerable Christopher, the founder of a desert in the modern Arkhangelsk region.

The publication also contains a short article about Christianity. The topic is covered in more detail in the other articles of the volume

Volume 73 includes articles about the martyrs Fortunatus and Felix, who suffered during the great persecution under the emperors Diocletian and Maximian Hercules; martyrs Photius and Anicetus, revered as unmercenaries and healers, and the holy martyr Charalampus.

The publication includes an article about the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. The Moscow theme is also represented by an article about Metropolitan Photius of Kiev and All Rus', appointed after the death of Metropolitan Cyprian.

The philosophical and religious tradition is represented in the book by articles about S. L. Frank, a religious thinker who developed a new approach to the construction of metaphysics in his book "The Soul of Man"; father and son J. I. Fudel and S. Y. Fudel, who wrote works about F. M. Dostoevsky, Fr. Pavel Florensky, the Slavophiles and their attitude to the Church.

The Middle Eastern theme is covered in a detailed article about Canaan, which will become a manual for students studying biblical archeology and the history of the Ancient East. Of no less importance is the material on the history and structure of the Jerusalem Temple.

Traditionally, the articles of the "Orthodox Encyclopedia" are accompanied by extensive illustrative material: color maps and numerous photo reproductions of portraits, works of church art.
