The hero of this story is not very lucky in the memory of his fellow citizens. The closest associate of I.V. Stalin, who occupied the highest state and party positions, he was involved in all the most important events and processes of the era. After the death of the leader G.M. Malenkov led the Soviet Union as Chairman of the Council of Ministers. “A practical worker, an executor of any assignments,” is how Malenkov would one day characterize Stalin, but at the same time he would disparage his theoretical level. The lack of knowledge in Marxist-Leninist theory, apparently, allowed Malenkov to put forward in 1953 a set of ideas that were perceived by many as a new course for the domestic and foreign policy of the USSR. In the mid-1950s, however, he would lose the inner-party struggle of N.S. Khrushchev, will be removed from the state and party service, expelled from the ranks of the CPSU, his political activities will be relegated to the shadow. Khrushchev would bring heavy accusations against him. The author tried to look at the history of life and, mainly, the activities of this person through the prism of archival documents available today, which are still little involved in scientific and social circulation. The events of the life of an individual and the events of the historical era are intertwined so closely that a biographical study promises an increment of new knowledge about the time, society and state in which the hero of this book lived and worked. The roots of the reality around us are in that era. That is why it is interesting, as the author hopes, not only to historians, but also to a wide circle of readers.
