In the autumn of 1920, about 150 of our compatriots left Russia. The ranks of the Russian army of General Baron P.N. Wrangel, the Black Sea Fleet (under the command of Admiral M.L. Kedrov), civilian refugees left the ports of Crimea on ships and vessels. This tragic event marked the end of the active phase of the Civil War. It was possible to carry out an operation unprecedented in history to evacuate a huge number of people in a short time and with limited opportunities, primarily thanks to the clear and competent actions of Russian sailors. It is from the “marine point of view” that the history of the Crimean Exodus of 000 is considered in the book offered to the attention of readers. On the pages of the collection for the first time fully published "A brief outline of the actions of the fleet during the evacuation of the Crimea in November 1920 and its stay in a foreign land" - a unique document compiled in Bizerte by Captain 1920st Rank N. R. Gutan, in which events, starting from the evacuation from Crimea and ending with the arrival of Russian ships in Bizerte, are painted with exhaustive detail almost by the hour. The “Brief essay” is supplemented by the testimonies of the participants in the events: the famous emigrant publicist and writer S. K. Tereshchenko, the writer and memoirist A. L. Voevodin, as well as the ship’s midshipman N. N. Rachinsky and warrant officers P. P. Krilichevsky and N. N. Alexandrova. All these memoirs were not previously introduced into scientific circulation. The release of this book becomes especially important in the year of the 1th anniversary of the Russian Exodus, when the anniversary of these tragic events is first celebrated at the state level, not only in Russia, but also in countries that have become a haven for Russian people who were forced to leave their homeland. The publication is intended not only for specialist historians, but also addressed to a wide range of readers interested in the history of the Civil War, the White Movement, the Navy and the Russian emigration.
