The poet Osip Emilevich Mandelstam left behind not only serious and complex lyrical works, but also light, transparent poems for children. In 1925-1926, four books of his children's poems were published - Primus, Two Trams, Balls and Kitchen.
The world of Mandelstam’s children’s poetry is made up of thousands of small things. The poet shares with his children his love of life, in which every detail can be a source of joy and inspiration.
In the early 1990s, the publishing house “Kid” planned to publish a book “The Boy in the Tram” with illustrations by Yevgeny Grigorievich Monin. Unfortunately, the book didn't come out. And only now children's poems of Osip Mandelstam with wonderful illustrations by Evgeny Monin for the first time come to children and adults to take them to an unusual world where talking trams, balloons, irons, samovars and fish fly.
