This book continues the study of Soviet Christmas tree decorations and the New Year's holiday, begun in the publication "The First Soviet Christmas Tree Decorations. 1936-1940."

In this section, the author explores the least known and most controversial period—the 1920s: a time when two regimes and two models of perceiving the same holiday intersected. Through a comparison of the pre-revolutionary and early Soviet eras, the author shows the "yolka"'s journey from a "relic of the past" to a symbol of the "new country."

A large section of the book is devoted to pre-revolutionary Christmas tree decorations. Based on price lists and private collections, a wealth of material has been compiled on the Christmas assortment of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These decorations, which survived the revolution and remained in families, became a bridge between eras and an important testimony to the continued existence of the holiday.

The book is based on extensive research: archival documents, photographs, and materials from private collections. It tells not only about Christmas tree decorations but also about what was happening in the country during this period, the "children's question," and the transformation of children's holidays in the face of changing ideologies.

This book will be of interest not only to collectors but also to anyone interested in learning how the history of the Soviet Christmas tree changed in the first decades after the Revolution.
