Lighthouses are some of the oldest engineering structures on earth. Over the many millennia that lighthouses have helped ships overcome danger, they have become one of the most popular symbols of hope. Poems and songs are written about lighthouses, they are painted by artists. And everyone, adults and children, dreams of visiting a real lighthouse at least once to find out how it works and how people live here. The artist Roman Belyaev grew up and lives far from the sea, in Moscow. But he loves lighthouses very much. He came up with a book in which he told everything interesting about them.
For preschool and primary school age.
