For the first time in Russian, the correspondence between the Russian Emperor Alexander I and his Swiss mentor F.-S. Lagarp is published in full.
The third volume of the publication covers the final period of the correspondence. It includes about 140 letters and documents, including Lagarp's correspondence with members of the Russian imperial family in 1826-1832. It is devoted to the fate of the entire complex of his correspondence with Alexander I, as well as to Lagarp's work on its description and commentary. The main theme of Lagarp's letters to Alexander I at the final stage was the criticism of the Restoration policy in Europe, carried out under the aegis of the Holy Alliance created on Alexander I's initiative. The letters of Lagarp that followed after the death of Alexander I show that, despite the differences between the emperor and his former mentor in the last years of his life, Lagarp did his utmost to ensure that their correspondence could be published in its entirety and without any exceptions.
