The monograph is the first in historical and legal science to attempt to characterize the court and process in the Turkic-Mongol states based on the Mongolian imperial law, which was created by Genghis Khan at the turn of the 12th–13th centuries and was used by his successors until the beginning of the 20th century.
A wide range of sources and the results of previously conducted studies make it possible to trace the processes of the emergence, development and decline of the khan's justice - both through examples of specific court proceedings and by identifying general trends and principles of procedural relations and specific aspects of judicial review in the states of Eurasia in different eras.
The systematization of information from numerous legal and non-legal monuments made it possible not only to reconstruct elements of the court and process in a number of countries and regions at certain historical stages, but also to show how contemporaries and descendants treated the khan's justice.
The book is intended for legal scholars studying the history of the state and law, courts and processes, for historians and orientalists studying the history and culture of traditional Eurasian states, source scholars, ethnologists and anthropologists, as well as for students studying in these specialties.
