The book is devoted to the SS as a political organization within the Nazi movement, its place and role in the Third Reich. The attempt to present the SS as just a gang of murderers and punishers is a falsification and coarsening of history, shifting to individual sadists and pathological killers the responsibility for the monstrous experiment both on the peoples of the occupied countries and on the Germans themselves. The SS was a political organization, a subdivision of the Nazi Party, which means that the very recognition of them as a criminal organization is automatically a recognition of the criminal nature of the entire National Socialism. This book shows how extensive the structure of the SS was. Even without SS troops, the Gestapo and concentration camps, it was a colossal criminal web that entangled the whole of Germany and worked to ensure that German society was under complete Nazi control, that people were educated in the spirit of Nazi ideology, to prepare future managerial personnel for the country, planning its transformation into a worldwide Nazi racist state. This aspect of the SS's activities is constantly overshadowed, and the universal nature of the SS's activities is glossed over or presented as unimportant. In this way, history is falsified and, in fact, if not all the SS, then their "non-Gestapo" parts in particular are rehabilitated.
