"The Stocrat Philosophy" is an elaboration of the ideas of financial analyst Thomas Phelps, who in 1972 wrote a book about stockocrats. That's what he called stocks that yield $100 for every dollar invested. Christopher Meyer decided to use Phelps' approach to analyze the modern American market. He extensively studied 365 companies whose stocks had increased in value a hundredfold between 1962 and 2014 to see if there was a systematic way to make long-term investments that would produce such impressive returns. According to Mayer's hypothesis, in the search for hundred-fold gains, one should focus on ethical companies that are committed to improving human life and adhere to the "buy and hold" principle. In this case, the choice of a particular industry does not matter. The main idea of the "Stokrat philosophy" is the following: an investor will do the right thing if he stands still to run fast. In support of his hypothesis, the author provides arguments based on a deep understanding of the market and a thorough study of the experience of various companies.
