In the winter of 1941, during the battle for Moscow, the city of Klin was twice at the center of events. At the end of November, its capture by the enemy, it would seem, foreshadowed the imminent fall of Moscow. But already in early December 1941, the successful strike of the 30th Army in the direction of Klin brought the German grouping against the right wing of the Western Front to the brink of disaster. How this happened, how the city was lost, how our troops were able to return it, and why in December they failed to inflict a more serious defeat on the Germans, is described in the book of Vasily Karasev. When writing the book, materials from domestic and foreign archives, memoirs of participants in the events and the works of military historians were used. The story is accompanied by maps illustrating each day of the operation and photographs.
