Georges Sand is the pseudonym of the French writer Aurora Dupin (1804-1876), under which she entered the history of classic literature for adult readers. However, she has wonderful works addressed to young readers as well - fairy tales that she composed for her beloved granddaughters Aurora and Gabriela, which became known as "Grandmother's Tales". "I suppose there are miracles in nature, otherwise I couldn't tell you about them," she wrote, prefacing one of her next stories. - It remains to be seen where the beings called supernatural are..." On the pages of these stories readers will have to find out where these creatures live, to get in touch with everything that should be in fairy tales: with good and evil, fairies and spirits, miracles and transformations. But these tales are designed not only to entertain, they teach, develop entering into a large and unknowable world of the little man, making him think about the origin of many phenomena, bringing up in him kindness, morality, unselfishness, love for people. And the philosophical bias and unusual plots of fairy tales make them interesting for adults. The first volume of the collection includes fairy tales: "The Castle of Pictordyu", "The Wings of Courage", "The Extraordinary Organ" and "The Giant Ieus", illustrated by French and Russian artists. The second volume of the collection includes fairy tales: "The Talking Oak", "What Flowers Say", "Queen Kwakusha", "The Pink Cloud", "The Red Hammer", "The Dust Fairy", "The Dog and the Sacred Flower", "The Knuckle-eyed Fairy", "Gribul", illustrated by French and Russian artists.
