This book is a unique military diary of the Leningrad schoolgirl Tanya Vassoevich, who was among those who survived the most terrible blockade winter of 1941-1942. In January 1942, she buried her 16-year-old brother Vladimir, and in February her mother Ksenia Platonovna. From the very first day of the war until the victorious May 1945, Tanya kept notes, which are also remarkable in that they contain many color drawings. It is they who turn Tanya's diary into a genuine work of children's fine art during the Great Patriotic War. Today, this most valuable historical document is carefully preserved by her son, the head of the St. Petersburg Center of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, Professor Andrei Leonidovich Vassoevich, who prefaced the publication of the military diary with an extensive introductory article, where the circumstances of a dramatic family history fit into the broad historical context of the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries.
The book is intended for a wide circle of readers interested in the history of Russia.
