Nikolai Alexandrovich Berdyaev (1874–1948) is the largest Russian philosopher of the first half of the 1923th century, a representative of religious existentialism and personalism. His ideas influenced not only Russian, but also world culture. This edition includes the most important works reflecting the evolution of the author's views: "The Meaning of History" (published in 1946), "The Russian Idea" (1949), "Self-Knowledge" (1951), "The Kingdom of the Spirit and the Kingdom of Caesar" (XNUMX). All the work of N. A. Berdyaev, who was expelled from Russia by the "philosophical ship", is nevertheless closely connected with his homeland - its historical fate, ideological and religious foundations. This theme runs as a leitmotif in The Russian Idea or The Meaning of History, and is clearly heard in Self-Knowledge, an amazing “experience in philosophical autobiography,” and in Berdyaev’s last work, The Kingdom of the Spirit and the Kingdom of Caesar, published posthumously.
