Boris Vasilyevich Anrep (1883-1969) - Russian muralist, writer of the Silver Age, who became an English artist, whose mosaics adorn the London National Gallery, the Royal Military Academy, Westminster Cathedral, the Bank of England ... In the UK, Anrep was close to the Bloomsbury group, artists Augustus John and Henry Lam. He is mentioned more than once in the "Diaries" of Virginia Woolf, became the prototype of the artist Gombauld in Aldous Huxley's first novel "Yellow Chrome" (1921). Anrep met Anna Akhmatova in 1914. Before he left for the UK, they met frequently. Akhmatova dedicated more than thirty poems to Anrep. The last time they saw each other was in Paris in 1965.
