The new historical novel by Ilya Drokanov continues the theme started in the author's previous book: Armor of the Baltic. It is dedicated to the activities of Soviet military intelligence officers and is built on materials little known to our reader. The time period of the ongoing events captures more than a quarter of a century: from 1917 to 1945. The storylines lead from the battles on the fronts of the Civil War in Russia to Germany and Sweden in the 1920s, to the events of the anti-fascist struggle in Spain in 1936-1938, to the conference of the anti-Hitler coalition in Morocco in 1943, to the battles in Northern Europe at sea and on land in period of World War II.
Among the heroes are a Soviet intelligence officer under the pseudonym Ferz, his head captain of the first rank Tikhonov, a beautiful and courageous woman Christina Tamm and even the head of intelligence of fascist Germany - the Abwehr - Admiral Canaris ... The presence of real political figures - the "Valkyries of the Revolution" Larisa Reisner, officer of the tsarist fleet of Vladimir Stashevsky, who joined the ranks of Soviet intelligence, People's Commissar of the Navy of the USSR Nikolai Kuznetsov and a number of others - increases interest in the book among fans of military history literature.
The author has devoted many years to naval intelligence and is familiar with its history and current state firsthand; his patriotic book will attract many "Moremans" and lovers of books about special services.
