Millennia of living together with humans have given dogs the ability to socially learn from humans, including imitation. In her book, the Italian researcher and dog trainer Claudia Fugazza offers a unique method of training dogs through imitation of human actions - "Do as I" ("Do as I do"). The method is based on the results of a study conducted by a group of ethologists from the University of Budapest led by Professor Adam Miklosi. Based on the natural cognitive abilities found in dogs of all types and breeds, Do Like Me is superior to traditional associative learning methods in many ways, especially in teaching complex subjects. The technique has shown its effectiveness in the preparation of assistant dogs, but can be used in any training and educational games. In addition, the communication and cooperation that is an integral part of Do Like Me training helps to strengthen the bond between the person and the dog.
