“People rarely have to choose whether to drink gasoline or freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast. However, starting to think about this alternative is one step away from the norm,” writes Gert Hof, Rammstein’s first lighting designer and close friend of Lindemann, in the introduction to the collection.
Try to side with the witch who wants to bake cookies from Hansel and Gretel - perhaps then you will be able to bring together the concepts of norm and Lindemann's poetry. And it's not that the witch loves the taste. No, she wants those cookies because... isn't that funny? The collection is made up of poems in two languages, German and Russian, and the illustrations on spreads are made by Dan Zozulya. The poems were translated by science fiction writer, poet, literary critic Yevgeny Witkovsky, translator of Neil Gaiman and Theodor Kramer, compiler of collections of Baudelaire, Valerie and Rimbaud. Lindemann will be presenting the book in December on the Messer book and music tour.
