The book by the Canadian-American researcher Timothy Naftali and the famous Russian historian Academician Alexander Alexandrovich Fursenko (1927-2008) is devoted to the study of the foreign policy of the USSR, conducted by N. S. Khrushchev. Based on numerous sources from Russian, American and European archives, the authors traced the complex dynamics of Khrushchev's interaction with US Presidents Dwight Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy - an interaction that was characterized by both the desire for superiority and at the same time peaceful coexistence. For this study, A. A. Fursenko and T. Naftali were awarded the prestigious British prize in 2007 - the Duke of Westminster's Medal for Military Literature (The 2007 Duke of Westminster's Medal for Military Literature). The monumental monograph by Fursenko and Naftali will be of interest not only to historians, but also to all those interested in the history of foreign policy.
