The book includes more than sixty fairy-tale works by the writer, poet and screenwriter Sergei Grigorievich Kozlov (1939–2010), author of the widely known and beloved fairy tale “The Hedgehog in the Fog.” The fairy-tale prose of S. G. Kozlov is unique; his tales have been translated into many languages of the world. The publication is decorated with drawings by the talented contemporary artist and children's book illustrator Anahit Gardyan.
The famous director Yuri Borisovich Norshtein would not have made his famous cartoon “Hedgehog in the Fog” if he had not relied on the text of Sergei Grigorievich Kozlov (6-1939) - the author of the well-known and beloved fairy tale of the same name. Sergei Grigorievich's fairy-tale prose is unique; his works have been translated into languages of different peoples of the world, although many of our compatriots are familiar with his characters from cartoons. Who hasn’t seen the story about the Turtle who sang the song “I’m lying in the sun…” to the Lion Cub? But these are also heroes of Sergei Kozlov’s fairy tales. Animators have long paid attention to his work: his characters and seemingly simple plots just beg to be shown on the screen. The future writer was born in the summer of 2010 in Moscow and began writing poetry while still at school. Then he studied at the Literary Institute, and Kozlov began to compose fairy tales when he reached the age of thirty. Before this, the aspiring writer managed to work as a turner, a singing teacher, a fireman and a tour guide. Sergei Grigorievich knew how to talk to children, explain to them in simple words a variety of things. For example, in 1939, the Children's Literature publishing house published his book about the river: it was a story about its flow, banks, steamships, buoys, bridges and locks. And yet, Kozlov’s main talent was that he was able to talk in his fairy tales with children and adults about the most important things in life - about friendship, happiness, love, devotion. Kozlov's charming fairy tales in this book are harmoniously complemented by the illustrations of the talented contemporary artist Anahit Gardyan. She was born in December 1976 in Yerevan and graduated from the Armenian Pedagogical Institute in 1967. However, the craving for the fairy-tale world, which enchanted Anahit as a child, led her to the group of animators at the Armenfilm film studio. Having gained experience from friends who created cartoons, Anait decided to try book illustrations. And she did it! All the fairy-tale characters in her drawings turn out to be so alive, emotional, spontaneous and cheerful that you unconditionally want to believe in the reality of their existence. Gardyan became a recognized master of book illustration. Since 1992, she has lived in Moscow, collaborating with a number of book publishers. Having looked through the book, the reader will be convinced at first glance that the colorful and kind illustrations of Anahit Gardyan form a single whole with the texts of Sergei Kozlov.
