1888 East London is a city within a city. A place of shadows and light; a place where thieves and whores coexist with dreamers; where during the day children play on the cobblestone streets, and at night a murderer stalks over them; where bright hopes collide with dark reality. Here, under the whispering waves of the Thames, Fiona Finnegan, a tea factory worker, dreams of one day opening her own shop with Joe Bristow, the son of a market trader whom she has known and loved since childhood. Driven by faith in each other, Fiona and Joe are in a daily battle with life, saving on everything and suffering hardship; and all in the name of fulfilling their dreams. But Fiona's usual life is shattered when the actions of a dark and cruel man take almost everything from her and everyone she loved and who served as her support. Fearing for her life, Fiona is forced to flee London for New York. There, through perseverance and an indomitable spirit, she rises from the owner of a modest shop on the West Side to the owner of a thriving tea company. But the ghosts of the past haunt her, and to deal with them, Fiona returns to London. A deadly fight with her past becomes the key to her future. For the first time in Russian!
