The collection of documents "The Belgian armored automobile division as part of the Russian army" reveals the history of political, economic and military-technical relations between Russia and Belgium during the First World War on the example of a gift from King Albert I of Belgium to Emperor Nicholas II of Russia of the Belgian armored automobile division. The division was staffed by volunteers armed with the latest models of equipment and weapons and was the first military unit of the Allies to bravely fight as part of the Russian army against the Austro-Hungarian and German troops in Eastern Galicia. The Belgian soldiers and officers of the division did not tarnish their courage and nobility shown on the battlefields by participating in the fratricidal Russian turmoil and were able to return to their homeland with honor. The materials published in the first volume are daily orders for the Belgian armored automobile division for October 1915 - August 1917. The documents of the Russian State Military Archive, which make up the second volume of the collection, date from September 1915 to December 1918. They represent correspondence concerning various aspects of the service of the Belgian division of cannon and machine gun armored vehicles in Russia and in the theater of operations in Austrian Galicia.
