The Andrusov Treaty of 1667, which ended the 13-year war of 1654-1667, divided Ukraine between the Russian state and the Commonwealth, but did not stop the long-term civil conflict, which received the name "Ruins" in historiography. One of the key events with the participation of Russian troops was the heroic defense of Chigirin from the Turkish-Tatar army in 1677, to which this book is dedicated.
