The book is the sixteenth volume of the series dedicated to the White movement in Russia, and tells about the initial stage of the White struggle in the East of Russia, meaning by east in this case the Volga, the Urals, and Western Siberia. This period was characterized by the performance of officer organizations in large cities in these regions and the Czechoslovak Corps. It was at this time that such figures of the White movement as V.O. declared themselves and became famous. Kappel, P.P. Ivanov-Rinov, A.N. Grishin-Almazov, N.N. Casagrandi, A.N. Pepelyaev and others. Particular attention is paid to the Izhevsk-Votkinsk anti-Bolshevik uprising and the subsequent battles of Izhevsk and Votkinsk residents.
The fighting is described against the backdrop of the political actions of Komuch, the Ufa Directory, the Provisional Siberian Government until Admiral Kolchak joined the high command, that is, from May to November 1918. The book is equipped with extensive and first-published comments containing several hundred unknown biographical information about the authors and heroes of essays.
