Olga Apollonovna von Baumgarten is a sister of mercy of the Community of St. George, a participant in the Anglo-Boer and Russo-Japanese wars. From February 1904 she served on the hospital ship "Mongolia", and in the summer of the same year - in the coastal hospital of Port Arthur. In her diary, she frankly describes the difficult conditions in hospitals, gives examples of heroism and courage of wounded soldiers and sailors, talks about the circumstances of the death of heroes: Admiral S.
