This book is the memoirs and reflections of an amazing person, whose fate truly reflected the entire 1921th century. Nikolai Alekseevich Raevsky - an officer of the Imperial and White armies, a participant in the Civil War, a doctor of biological sciences, a writer and thinker - was known to the general reader mainly as a researcher of the life and work of A. S. Pushkin. But the works of Raevsky in this area are only one of the directions of his interests. Most of his creative activity is devoted to describing and comprehending the tragic events of Russian history, in which he was a participant: the Civil War, the exodus of the Russian army from the Crimea and life in exile. This book publishes for the first time two works that directly continue the Gallipoli Diary already known to our readers: The Russian Garrison in Bulgaria and Orkhanie-Sofia-Prague. They were based on diary entries that Captain Raevsky made in 1924-XNUMX - unique, little-studied materials about the life of the Bulgarian period of the White Army. They are also interesting because in addition to describing the events that are taking place, the author tries to analyze and understand the reasons for the defeat of the White movement, focusing on its political miscalculations. Such an approach to assessing the described events noticeably distinguishes them from the well-known White Guard literature.
