Before you, dear reader, are letters from one of the best naval officers, Pyotr Aleksandrovich Vyrubov, who died in the meat grinder of the Russo-Japanese War. His letters are also valuable because they are the only published evidence of a lieutenant who died in Tsushima to date. The letters cover the entire life of a young man who came to the fleet at the call of his heart from Moscow, far from the sea, from studying in the Naval Corps to serving on the cruisers of the Pacific squadron - "Rurik", "Dmitry Donskoy", "Robber" and the fateful campaign to Tsushima on the flagship battleship "Prince Suvorov". Letters from P.A. Vyrubova are, therefore, a literary monument to the entire young generation of midshipmen and lieutenants, whose military career was cut short at takeoff...
The text of the letters is taken from a book of the same name published in Kyiv in 1910 and supplemented with photographic documents.
