Alexander Fedorovich Belousov (1946–2023) is an outstanding philologist who became a pioneer in several important topics in science at once. Having started his career as a researcher of Old Believer culture, he was one of the first to turn to the study of urban folklore of the XNUMXth - early XNUMXth centuries, and then initiated a whole new direction in folklore - the study of modern urban and children's folklore, from jokes and children's horror stories to sadistic couplets. Another important area discovered by Belousov is the study of the phenomenon of the Russian province as a unique phenomenon. He was also one of the first to turn to the study of the biography and work of Leonid Dobychin, writing a number of articles about his works and a detailed real commentary on the novel The City of En. This collection includes selected works by Belousov on Russian folklore, Russian literature and everyday culture, and the final section contains interviews of the scientist, published in different years in newspapers and magazines.
